Who we are
Hendwerkes sells handmade leather goods made by artisans in India. This policy explains how we handle personal information when you visit www.hendwerkes.com, create an account, subscribe or buy from us. Contact: our support team.
What we collect
- Order and account details — your name, e-mail, phone number, shipping and billing addresses, order history, wishlist and saved addresses.
- Sign in with Google — if you choose it, Google shares your name, e-mail address and profile picture with us. We never see your Google password.
- Payments — card, UPI, bank and PayPal details are entered on Razorpay's or PayPal's own secure pages and never reach our servers. We keep only the payment reference, amount and status.
- Things you send us — messages, reviews, return and warranty photos, and photos you submit to our Family Album.
- Your location and preferences — your approximate country, worked out from your connection (via our hosting provider), so we can show prices in your currency; and the country and currency you choose.
- Technical data — device, browser and pages visited, used to keep the site secure and, only with your consent, for analytics.
Why we use it
- To make, ship, track and support your order, including customs paperwork for international shipping.
- To send order, shipping, account and return e-mails.
- To send our newsletter and offers — only if you subscribed. Every e-mail has an unsubscribe link.
- To show reviews and Family Album photos you submitted, after we approve them.
- To prevent fraud and keep the shop secure.
- To meet our legal obligations, such as tax and export records.
Who we share it with
Only the services that help us run the shop, each bound to protect your data: our payment providers (Razorpay, PayPal), our shipping platform and its couriers (Shiprocket and partner carriers, including customs authorities where a shipment requires it), our e-mail provider, our hosting provider, and Google if you use Sign in with Google. We never sell your personal information.
How long we keep it
Order and invoice records are kept for as long as tax and export law requires. Account data is kept until you delete your account. Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe.
Your rights
Depending on where you live — for example under the EU and UK GDPR, the California CCPA or India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act — you can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data, object to marketing, or withdraw consent. Write to our support team; we answer within 30 days.
International transfers
We are based in India and our service providers may process data in other countries. Where the law requires, we use appropriate safeguards for these transfers.
